Dr. Cleghorn’s area of expertise is Comparative Sociology of Education. Her research centers on African and other still-developing primary and pre-primary school settings with special regard to language of instruction, science education, the use of text materials, and cross-cultural conceptions of childhood. She teaches Comparative Education at the undergraduate level; at the graduate level she teaches cross-cultural perspectives on literacy, and research methods in education.
