Shannon Lloyd is an assistant professor in the John Molson School of Business and a member of the Loyola Sustainability Research Centre at Concordia University. She began her career in operations and product development, where she became interested in green design and manufacturing. She then transitioned to an applied research and consulting role in which she developed methods for assessing the life cycle environmental performance of products, processes, and organizations and used these methods to help public and private sector clients measure and reduce the environmental impact of their supply chains, operations, and products. Now, at Concordia University, Dr. Lloyd’s research is focused on the alignment of corporate environmental performance with collective environmental goals, such as the Paris Agreement temperature goal.

Dr. Lloyd’s research aims to answer the following questions:

  • How have corporate sustainability practices evolved over time and what role have they played in supporting (or impeding) environmental sustainability?
  • How can we assess the extent to which an organization’s environmental performance is aligned with environmental sustainability?
  • Can we establish individual and collective environmental performance goals based on scientific requirements for sustaining ecosystem services?
