Teaching interests include: children and youth rights and child welfare law; professional ethics, counseling skills and theory, understanding homelessness and social exclusion; assessment & engagement of youth & adults  at risk in resiliency building through community development and program planning

Professional Experience

Yaffa Elling has worked for many years with street involved youth and recreation planning and intervention for youth at risk. She has also worked as a guidance counselor in high school, an employment counselor, in front line crisis intervention, in child welfare services, and part time instructor at the CEGEP, trade school for nursing assistance in mental health, and university levels
