SEPT. 14: Queer Homecoming
Levine is an images-based artist whose work has been exhibited at museums, galleries and art festivals across Canada, the United States, Mexico and Europe. His most recent exhibition, Queer Photographs, is currently running at Montreal’s McCord Museum until September 18.
The September 14 talk will focus on Levine’s creative process, as well as his use of large-format photography.
“JJ Levine’s practice balances a radical queer agenda with a strong formal aesthetic,” says Burnett. “His art is about queer community and chosen family. JJ’s work is brilliant, and I think he is on the cusp of art-world stardom.”
