Art and design exhibitions, magazine launches and more – artists in the Faculty of Fine Arts are moving their work into virtual spaces as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Join us here from Spring into Summer to connect with student and faculty work from Concordia University's Faculty of Fine Arts.

Biennale d'art contemporain autochtone (BACA)

The Contemporary Native Art Biennial (BACA) 2020 will present its exhibitions, performances, and other community programming online. Opening Ceremony will be on April 23 and the virtual exhibition will continue until June 21. Concordians feature heavily in the programming with undergraduate Rudy Aker, an assistant supervisor of the biennal, and featuring works by Scott Benesiinaabandan (MFA Candidate), Hannah Claus (MFA candidate, Studio Arts – Fibres), Jason Edward Lewis (Professor, Computation Arts, Design and Computation Arts), Nadia Myre (Assistant Professor, Studio Arts), Sherry Farrell Racette (former faculty member), Diane Roberts (Trudeau scholar, Humanities PhD candidate) and Skawennati (Co-director of AbTeC, alumna).

International BFA Student Show


Organized by Serving the People, a non-profit organization based in New York City that provides a platform for creative inquiry and experimentation, the BFA Student Show is an international student-organized exhibition composed of artworks from students currently enrolled in BFA programs from over 40 art schools around the world and counting. Concordia was the first Canadian university to participate. Xavier Belanger-Dorval, an undergraduate Studio Arts student, is the Concordia University representative for the project. Artworks from the show were exhibited at at the end of the school year.
