Policy on the Management of Digital Assets - VPS-32

Introduction

Concordia University’s information technology ecosystem is aimed to provide support to employees and students as they fulfill their tasks as members of the Concordia community. For this support to be effective, and for operations to run at their full capacity, the university’s digital assets be secure at all times.

Policy overview

The purpose of this Policy is to support Employees and Students in ensuring the effective, and efficient management of University Digital Assets throughout the asset lifecycle and to preserve the security and integrity of the University’s proprietary Information Technology ecosystem. In addition to ensuring compliance with the Catalogue, the Policy aims to support the implementation of best practices for Digital Asset Management The policy sets out how the university’s digital assets are acquired, maintained, audited, and decommissioned during their lifecycle. It also defines what is considered a University Digital Asset and whose responsibility it is within the University to maintain such Assets.
