Infinithéâtre
Mission/mandate/about the organisation
Infinithéâtre develops, produces and promotes plays written or adapted by Québec artists, with a commitment to theatre that reflects a vast diversity of experience.
Based in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal, we seek out and encourage works that examine and reflect contemporary society in all its complexity and beauty. We present innovative new plays created in collaboration with both emerging and established artists, providing professional support that is accessible, fruitful, and sustained. While our works are primarily presented in English, we aim to explore subject matter and themes that impact the many peoples that call Québec home.
Our work is driven by a fundamental desire to spark dialogue and awaken empathy through live performance of the highest calibre.
Context of the internship
Infinitheatre is a Montreal-based theatre company devoted to new play creation. We are a small and scrappy team, deeply passionate about what we do. We love engaging with Concordia students and we strive to customize our internships based on the skills, passions and aspirations of each candidate. As a modest-sized theatre company, our team often wear multiple hats. As such, you can assume an intern may also have the opportunity to wear multiple hats when joining us. Some of our internships are more focused on the arts administration facets of theatre production (stage management, production management, outreach and audience engagement), while some of our internships are more hands-on related to a specific production (assisting with set, costume, props, puppet designs, or technical work within the theatre venue). Most of our internships tend to be mid-fall to mid-winter, but there are always exceptions to the rule!
