Philipp Keidl publishes new research in Journal for Cinema and Media Studies

Recent PhD graduate, Dr. Philipp Keidl, published his pathbreaking work on fandom in our field’s leading scholarly journal. The article is titled “Franchising the Past: Transmedia Historiography, Cultural Memory Management, and the Fanboy Historian” Journal of Cinema and Media Studies (61.5). Philipp is current a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Configurations of Film Project, Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany. His article grows from his Concordia University PhD dissertation and focusses on non-fiction fan practices and the Star Wars film and media franchise.
