Mission/mandate/about the organisation

Born from a Canadian-Swedish collaboration, Tentacle Tribe unites choreographers and performers Emmanuelle Lê Phan and Elon Höglund. Blending street and contemporary dance, their distinctive style draws on Hip Hop foundations—Breaking and Popping—infused with animalistic physicality and intricate partner work. Their creations explore symbiosis, optical illusion, and innovation through technology and interdisciplinary approaches.

Deeply rooted in the street dance community, they are committed to mentorship, outreach, and accessibility, leading workshops and creating works across dance and circus. Since its founding in 2012, Tentacle Tribe has produced 9 stage works and 6 films, earning national and international recognition. The company continues to advance street dance through initiatives like the Coro Casse festival in Quebec.access to highly specialized equipment and technical support.

Areas of interest that can be explored through the internship

As our dance company approaches its 15-year anniversary in 2027, we are preparing a major new production set to premiere in June 2027. This milestone work will explore themes of surrealism, games, and play, with a strong emphasis on visual storytelling—where costume and set design are fully integrated into the choreography itself.

To support this exciting new chapter, we are seeking a motivated student for the 2026–2027 season with skills in marketing, graphic design, and/or communications. The selected intern will play an active role in reimagining and refreshing our brand identity, contributing to the redesign of our online presence, and helping shape dynamic promotional campaigns for our anniversary season and upcoming performances.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with a professional dance company, gain hands-on experience in arts marketing, and contribute creatively to a landmark moment in our history.
