Growing A.R.C.
Mission/mandate/about the organisation
Growing A.R.C. is a nonprofit that reimagines sustainability as a cultural and relational practice rooted in land, community, and justice. We engage BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities through projects that explore the farm-to-closet journey, material practices and craft as a pathway to environmental awareness, personal healing, and collective care. Our work activates, reciprocates, and cultivates relationships with all beings to advance systems change, promote mental and social wellbeing, and restore cultural connections through material care.
Context of the internship
Our work involves but is not limited to support in facilitation of workshops and activities based on material arts and practices, garden and farm care cultivating with textile and dye plants, development of experiential learning activities and the design and writing for newsletters, social media and educational materials. Rather than just tell you what to do we encourage collaboration and the development of projects with those wishing to work with us.
