CKUT 90.3 FM

Mission/mandate/about the organisation:

CKUT 90.3FM is Montreal's leading campus/community radio station. We are free-form radio station that broadcasts across the island of Montreal on the FM dial. Our mission and mandate are both to support communities in Montreal who lack access to media platforms as well as provide students at McgIll an opportunity to learn about broadcasting, journalism, experimental radio art and access to communities from across the island of Montreal. Although CKUT is largely funded by McGil students. All our welcome. 

Context of the internship

CKUT production interns work to support CKUT's production department. The production department is responsible for training CKUT volunteers on our broadcast studios, audio editing, equipment repair and general studio maintenance. Interns ofter often participate in broadcasts as well as other media forms like audio mix for video and live room sound.
