Mission/about the organisation:
Cinéma Public’s mission is to celebrate local and international cinema via screenings and encounters between audiences, films, and artists. Our venue, located near Jean-Talon metro station, hosts our year-round programming, while other spaces, such as Livart, host our summer outdoor screenings. Cultural outreach and partnerships are at the heart of our programming. Cinéma Public, because film is vital!
Context of the internship
Cinéma Public is looking for a student in film or a related field (arts, communication, cultural management) for an internship in theater management and audience development. The intern will work at the box office, welcome the public, introduce films, and launch screenings, while also developing communication initiatives to build loyalty among current audiences and reach new ones (youth, local communities, specific audiences), in collaboration with local, community, and arts organizations.
Areas of interest: film, customer service, cultural mediation.
Context: part of an ongoing audience development initiative integrated into the cinema's activities.
Profile sought: interest in film; also open to profiles in arts, communication, or cultural management.
Duration and schedule: variable, full-time/part-time, including evenings.
Location: Cinéma Public.
Compensation: possibly via scholarships or grants.
