World Creation Studio

Mission/mandate/about the organisation:

World Creation Studio is an artist-run non-profit organization based in Montréal that supports experimental and interdisciplinary practices in sound, digital media, immersive technologies, and emerging forms of artistic expression. We provide accessible studio space, technical resources, mentorship, workshops, artist residencies, and public programming that enable artists to research, develop, and present new work. Our mandate is to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and equitable access to creative technologies while strengthening connections between artists, cultural organizations, and local communities. Through partnerships, exhibitions, talks, performances, and educational initiatives, we create opportunities for artists at all stages of their careers to experiment, build technical skills, and engage with contemporary creative practices.

Context of the internship

Interns at World Creation Studio gain hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of an artist-run centre while contributing to exhibitions, artist residencies, workshops, performances, and public events. Depending on their interests, interns may support communications, graphic design, documentation, audiovisual production, studio operations, community engagement, and program coordination. Those with technical or artistic backgrounds may also explore sound, immersive media, spatial audio, Unreal Engine, creative coding, and multimedia installation. Through mentorship and collaboration with artists and cultural workers, interns develop practical skills, contribute to meaningful projects, and gain insight into contemporary arts production within a community-focused, interdisciplinary environment.
