Mission/mandate/about the organisation:

Tënk is a solidarity cooperative that offers a curated, subscription-based streaming platform dedicated to promoting and supporting auteur documentaries in Canada.

With its unique hybrid model—functioning as both a documentary film archive and a permanent online festival in Canada—Tënk is more than just a platform. 

With four new films each week, we offer a catalog carefully curated by some twenty professionals, prioritizing gender parity and a diversity of perspectives. Subscribers have access to 52 films at any given time and more than 200 works per year, ranging from timeless classics to experimental works, regardless of format or age.

More than six years after its launch, Tënk has become a key player in the documentary film scene, having streamed over 1,500 films on our platform.

Context of the internship

We are always delighted to welcome interns from Concordia University. We are always looking for new ideas and fresh perspectives to help us grow Tënk. There are many possible areas of involvement: programming, communications, strategic development in English-speaking Canada, and participation in the organization’s projects, such as our educational offerings or La Semaine du Doc...
