Jess Stewart-Lee

Jess Stewart-Lee is a graduate student in the Film Studies program at the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema. She graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts With High Distinction from the University of Toronto, double majoring in Cinema Studies and Diaspora & Transnational Studies. Jess' interests in archival media studies was piqued during her undergraduate career through such directors as John Akomfrah and Sandi Tan. She will expand upon these interests with her SSHRC-funded thesis, "The In-Between: An examination of archival media in autobiographical documentary film". Outside of schoolwork, Jess is a photographer, videographer, editor, and huge fan of RPGs.
