Career counselling and advising

Confused about your academic or career path? Need help finding and applying for jobs or internships? Meet with a career counsellor or advisor!

What’s the difference between career counselling and career advising?

A career counsellor helps you make choices about your academic and career path based on your strengths, interests and values. They can help you find out what you can do with your degree, whether that means entering the job market or continuing your studies.

A career advisor helps you with your job search. They can give you tips and resources to help you land the job you want.

Clarify your academic and career path

Career counselling can help you:

  • Learn how your strengths, interests and values can influence your career
  • Explore what you can do with your major
  • Choose the right degree for you
  • Plan for next steps in your education
  • Address an academic or personal challenge that is affecting your university or career goals
