SkillXchange

Students teaching students

Do you have something to teach us? We want to learn from you!

SkillXchange presents you with the opportunity to lead a FutureBound workshop, meetup, or zoom room designed for your peers. We will help you design a brilliant learning experience by partnering you with a coach and providing individualized feedback as you prepare. You will then lead your workshop as a part of a FutureBound core skill module.

SkillXchange provides a platform for you to try out a new idea, experiment with peer teaching, and develop your skills in a supportive learning environment. The experience will not only allow you to apply and share your knowledge with your fellow students, you’ll also develop important transferable skills in the areas of workshop design, peer teaching, facilitation and public speaking!

Why participate in SkillXchange?

By the end of the SkillXchange experience, student leaders/facilitators will be able to:

  • Execute the process of taking an idea and developing it into a learning experience for students
  • Build an engaging and experiential workshop anchored in clear learning objectives for participants
  • Facilitate a supportive and collaborative learning experience where fellow students can experiment with, apply, and exchange ideas
  • Create a visually engaging workshop using presentation tools such as PowerPoint or Canva
  • Demonstrate communication and relationship-building skills related to supportiveness, listening and empathy.
