Position description

This is a posting for a 24-month Limited Term contract in the Department of Art Education. We are seeking applicants with expertise in Research Methodologies and Pedagogical Orientations in Art Education. The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in pedagogical methods for art education, critical theory and perspectives in art education, arts education in scholastic contexts, community-based art education, multimedia and/or intermedia in art education, to name a few. Other duties include serving as reader on Master’s-level Thesis Committees, as well as managing graduate and undergraduate students who are involved in curricular analysis and knowledge mobilization projects currently being undertaken in the department.  

Limited-term faculty members at Concordia University are full-time faculty whose primary duties include teaching and service, with no research obligations.

Qualifications and assets

Applicants must possess a completed PhD in Art Education or Education. Prior experience in teaching art education (and related courses) in a higher education context or community-based setting is considered an asset. Prior experience as an elementary and/or high school teacher and qualification to teach in elementary and/or secondary schools is also considered an asset.
