Why StartupReady?

StartupReady is a program that will initiate you into the world of entrepreneurship and innovation. Designed for students from all faculties and programs, this experience will help you develop your understanding of what it takes to be innovative and entrepreneurial while enhancing your employability skills for the startup world and beyond. It doesn't get much better than that.

How we do it

An entrepreneurial mindset is fueled by curiosity, geared towards problem-solving, and driven by a desire to bring about change in the world. And so in completing this certificate, you will:

  • Build your entrepreneurial mindset and skills in the areas of entrepreneurship, customer discovery, prototyping and design thinking
  • Expand your network with like-minded peers and industry leaders through collaborating with students across disciplines

Once you have completed the outlined workshops and the Lean Launchpad series, you will be eligible to receive a StartupReady Certificate.

How it works

Complete a series of five FutureBound/GradProSkills workshops on topics such as design thinking, customer discovery, and entrepreneurship.

Complete throughout the academic year:

  • Entrepreneurship 101
  • Intro to Startup Customer Discovery
  • Pitching
  • Prototyping and Usability Testing
  • Intro to Design Thinking

You will also have to complete all four weeks of the How to Build a Startup: The Lean LaunchPad course, which includes four weekly in-person, 1.5-hour facilitated check-ins with the District 3 team.

Session dates (IN-PERSON for Fall 2022):
Friday afternoons, 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. | October 28, November 4, November 11, November 18, 2022
