Dr. Norma Joseph - Contribution to Canadian Jewish Heritage Month
The National Council of Jewish Women of Canada, Toronto recognized Dr. Joseph as a contributor to the Canadian Jewish Heritage Month.
"Dr. Norma Joseph is a Canadian professor and Jewish feminist and activist. Dr. Joseph's research includes Women and Judaism, Jewish Law and Ethics, Women and Religion and Food and Religion.
In 1990, Dr. Joseph was successful in working with the Government of Canada to pass a law that would protect Jewish women in need of a get. She currently serves as Professor of Religions and Cultures at Concordia University and was Associate Director of the University's Azrieli Institute of Israel Studies."
