Elective courses open to all students

All students are required to do elective credits — courses that are not a part of your program of study. What those are depend on such things as your degree, program or faculty.

Below, you will find a list of courses that are open to all students. The Faculty of Arts and Science also offers Elective groups, which are based on a theme.

Course Prerequisites: You cannot register for a course if you haven’t completed its prerequisite. If a course requires "Departmental permission," you must get approval from the relevant department before registering.

Course Entry Restrictions: Many Arts & Science courses reserve seats for students in specific programs and may not be open to others as electives. Check the course schedule and click on the section to view seat availability. If there's a waitlist and you're in the required program, it likely means seats are reserved for you.
