Graduate research in the Faculty of Arts and Science is bold, creative, and transformative.
Each year, the Graduate Research Photo Contest invites master’s and doctoral students to showcase their innovative research through a single striking image. Participants are encouraged to capture a compelling photo that reflects the essence, impact, or process of their work, paired with a short, plain-language description.

Prizes
The competition draws an impressive range of submissions every fall. Each entry offers a unique lens into the discoveries and narratives shaping today’s scholarship, from the microscopic to the monumental.
Each submissions is evaluated on both artistic and academic merit. Winning photos are selected by a committee of faculty, staff, and alumni.
- 1st prize: $500
2nd prize: $300
3rd prize: $100
All actively registered, full-time graduate students in a research program (MA, MSc or PhD) within the Faculty of Arts and Science are eligible to participate.
