Reaching for the Stars: Israel and the Search for Exo-Planets with Prof. Shay Zucker and Prof. Colin Price

Please join the Azrieli Institute of Israel Studies on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 12:00PM EST / 7:00PM ILT for a virtual talk in collaboration with Canadian Friends of Tel Aviv University with Prof. Shay Zucker and Prof. Colin Price on Reaching for the Stars: Israel and the Search for Exo-Planets.

Currently Prof. Zucker is a member of the DPAC consortium, which is in charge of analyzing the data obtained by the Gaia space telescope of the European Space Agency. In his current research, he is focusing on the possibility to detect transiting planets by Gaia.

Prof. Price is Head of the Department of Environmental Studies at Tel Aviv University. He is a world known Atmospheric Physicist, specializing in the Earth’s weather and climate, with a focus on thunderstorms, climate change and natural hazards. Professor Price is also the Head of TAU’s Nano-satellite Center and was recently appointed Head of the University’s new Climate Action Change Center, inaugurated in June 2021.
