Self-assessments for math prerequisites

If you’ve been exempted from a prerequisite course and are moving ahead, we recommend testing your knowledge for the course you’ve been exempted from.

Math courses build on each other. Understanding concepts from earlier courses is essential for success at the next level.

Courses covered

Take these self-assessments if you've been exempted from MATH 203, 204, 205, 206, 208 or 209.

  • Download the self-assessment for the course you were exempted from.
  • Complete the assessment in 60–90 minutes.
  • Try it without reference materials for an accurate picture of your knowledge.

Note that your results are private. They don’t affect your exemption status and are for your use only.

Compare your results to the scale below. Note that the scale offers a general guideline.

Tutoring for math, engineering, accounting, statistics & finance courses

Work one-on-one with a trained peer tutor to improve your understanding of course material and practice solving challenging problems.

Tutoring appointments

Check back often in case more time slots open up! You can book your next appointment as soon as you finish your appointment, even in the same week, as long as there are availabilities.

Study groups for economics, chemistry & physics courses

Join a small-group session led by a trained peer. You’ll review material, tackle practice problems and work with others while getting guidance from the leader.

Come prepared to participate and bring your notes! Sessions are collaborative — they are not lectures or one-on-one tutoring.

Courses covered

  • ECON 201, 203, 221, and 222
  • PHYS 204 and 205
  • CHEM 205
