For almost two decades, the Community Service Initiative at the John Molson School of Business has been at the heart of experiential learning at Concordia.
By encouraging and promoting experiential learning through community service, the Initiative builds impactful relationships between John Molson and the community at large.
The three pillars
1. Community-engaged teaching and learning
Courses and educational initiatives provided to students and the community.
2. Community-engaged research
- Collaborating with faculty researching, writing and co-authoring cases on the non-profit sector through the John Molson Case Publications Initiative
- Working with faculty conducting case writing workshops

How it works
- Take the Community Service elective courses for credit and gain valuable experience with a partner organization

CSI by the numbers
- More than 21 faculty members have supervised 320 students and the completion of 162 projects as a part of the Community Service Elective courses.
- 40 market studies conducted for Trade Facilitation Office (TFO) in 12 countries: Bangladesh, Bolivia, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Ghana, Haiti, Honduras, Indonesia, Kenya, Morocco, Peru, Uganda.
- 27 not-for-profit executive directors and managers have participated in the Community Service Initiative Roundtable.
