Curriculum development

The Centre is developing an MBA course, entitled How to Become a Self-Made Business Owner which will be offered to MBA students and will be taught by a faculty member with the support of select business owners and other professionals. Course topics may include: deciding whether or not buying an existing business is for you, finding the right business, valuating and financing a business, using professional advisors and / or brokers and negotiating and closing the deal.

A second MBA course, titled Managing an Acquired Business will be also developed. This course will examine businesses and their owners and will aim to identify the keys to their success. The course topics may include: transitioning to new ownership, skills needed to manage and turn around a business, buy and build strategies, hidden champions and selling/exiting a business.
