Certificate in Business Studies

The 30 credit Certificate in Business Studies allows students to aquire contemporary business knowledege. Admission requirements to the Certificate in Business Studies are the same as those for entry to a John Molson Bachelor's degree - see admission requirements.

Please Note:

  • the Certificate in Business Studies is not open to students registered in a program leading to an undergraduate degree. 
  • Students may transfer a maximum of 12 credits into the Certificate in Business Studies.

  • COMM 211 Global Business Environment (3.0 Credits)
  • COMM 213 Computing and Visualization Tools for Business Analytics (1.5 Credits)
  • COMM 214 Business Analytics (3.0 Credits)
  • COMM 216 Ethics, Business Sustainability, and Social Responsibility (1.5 Credits)
  • COMM 217 Financial Accounting (3.0 Credits)

Semester 2

  • COMM 219 Innovation Management (1.5 Credits)
  • COMM 221 Financial Markets (3.0 Credits)
  • COMM 223 Marketing Management (3.0 Credits)
  • COMM 225 Production and Operations Management (3.0 Credits)
  • COMM 226 Business Technology Management (3.0 Credits)
  • COMM 227 Interpersonal and Critical Thinking Skills (3.0 Credits)
  • COMM 316 Business Law and Ethics (1.5 Credits) *


Students choose three credits in consultation with an academic advisor from within the John Molson School of Business.

Note: Courses marked with an asterisk (*) are optional and not required for certificate completion
