Submitting your documents to the university

International Students must have valid immigration documents that cover the entire period of their studies in Canada. Concordia University must have a copy of these documents on file.

New students

You must submit your immigration documents by your first day of class.

If you don’t upload your required immigration documents to the Concordia Student Centre by the deadline, you will be de-registered after the term’s enrolment period ends.

To study at Concordia, you must have valid immigration documents as required by the governments of Quebec and Canada. The university is obligated to collect and maintain these documents for government reporting. Without them, we cannot confirm your authorization to study or allow you to remain enrolled.

Deferrals

If you don’t have your required immigration documents by the beginning of the term, you must defer your studies. Please contact the admissions officer or graduate program coordinator/admissions advisor listed in your Offer of Admission to request a deferral.

  • If you have already applied for your CAQ, you can use it to start your studies at a later term.
  • If you have not yet applied for your CAQ, simply use your deferred Offer of admission when you apply.

Returning students

You must submit your renewed document(s) by the date of expiration of your current document(s).

Note: If you are an international student who is also employed by Concordia, you must also submit a copy of these documents directly to Human Resources (payroll).
