Amy Nguyen is currently in her final year as a finance student at the John Molson School of Business. While growing up in Vancouver, sustainability was something that was taught, and continues to drive her career trajectory. She has a deep interest in how companies are adapting to changes driven by investor and community pressure to address sustainability issues, which is why she wanted to join the practicum.
She is beginning her third year as part of the John Molson Sustainable Enterprise Committee, as the Executive Vice President. The committee aims to connect the sustainability and business worlds through workshops, events, and projects that institutionalize sustainability within JMSB.
Amy is also working as the coordinator of the Sustainable Investing Project at Sustainable Concordia. The project aims to invest Sustainable Concordia’s contingency fund in a sustainable, impactful manner. She does research on medium-large cap Canadian companies, identifying leaders in the ESG domain.
Amy is now researching alongside a professor at Concordia on Fortune 500 companies that have become members of EPA’s Green Power Project. She is looking specifically at early adopters and their reasons behind joining the project.
During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends, travelling, camping, playing sports, and watching movies.
