Graduates participate in a ceremonial marshaling into the hall, led by Concordia’s Grand Marshal. They are seated as a group in the audience until marshals usher them backstage at the conclusion of speeches.

Welcoming remarks from the Dean of Students, faculty Dean, Chancellor, and University President.
Graduates cross the stage; convocation medals and awards announced as winners cross (spring ceremonies only).
Conferral of degrees.
Closing remarks and group photo (taken while graduates are seated in the venue).
Instructions for graduates
Graduates must arrive 1 hour and 15 minutes before the start of their ceremony.
Graduates must keep their marshaling cards in hand at all times until the moment they cross the stage.
Graduates receive their diplomas backstage, before they cross. Upon crossing, they will shake hands with a presiding university official and return to their seat.
Graduates should not leave their personal items on their seat as they will not be returning to the same seat once they cross the stage.
The procession of graduates takes place according to degree and program. The order of procession by degree may vary by faculty.
Graduates and their guests are asked to remain in their seats for the entire ceremony.
