Our Goal
To raise our game by increasing financial aid to our student athletes and to fund full-time assistant coaching staff. The opportunity to travel to non-conference competitions and games hosted by NCAA institutions will allow the Stingers to test their prowess against the top teams in North America.
In support of this plan, in the spirit of Giving Tuesday every donation will be doubled thanks to the generosity of an anonymous benefactor who will match gifts up to a total of $50,000.
Meet the team
Under the direction of head coach Marc-André Elément, the Concordia Stingers men's hockey team is made up of elite student athletes who dedicate their time and energy to training on the ice and to pursuing their academics.
Although this year has brought challenges, the team is still looking ahead and preparing for when it can safely compete again. In the meantime, there's on-ice training and strength and conditioning workouts when possible. Also, the Stingers have adapted to the new reality and connect regularly through Zoom. Virtual presentations include sports psychology, nutrition and opportunities to play hockey in Europe after graduation. To keep the players motivated and in good shape, the team has also launched an app-based running challenge.
The men’s hockey program remains committed to building an elite team that is focused on winning conference and national championships.
