HUMAN SYSTEMS INTERVENTION PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

Our goal

To fund a sustainable entrance scholarship for Human System Intervention students that will attract strong candidates and remove financial barriers to the program.

Join us in supporting students who want to change the world!

Our project

Graduate school can be prohibitively expensive for some students. Together we can change that. We, a committee of HSI alumni, need your help to support worthy applicants entering the Human Systems Intervention (HSI) program.

Our primary goal is to fund a scholarship for students accepted into the HSI master’s program.

Waste Not, Want Not - Our team

Why we need your help

Our HSI community is well known for being a giving one. Sharing of time and expertise has been a hallmark of the community for quite some time. But we are asking for just a bit more.

To grow this scholarship we need the generous support of people who believe in the importance of social and organizational change and who are prepared to help a student who wants to create a better world. Tuition for the program can be steep, especially for out-of-province or international students.

In addition, there is the cost of books, lodging, travel and food. Some see their income decline as they reduce their work time in order to address the program’s demands.

This scholarship will make a big difference for some students who otherwise would not be able to access this special educational experience.

Whether you are an HSI graduate who is making a donation to pay it forward to the next generation of students, or simply a supporter of this exceptional program, your gift, no matter the size, will help deserving students and provide growth to the HSI program.

“The program not only gave me tools and experience in individual, group and system change processes, it also significantly shifted my worldview and the ways I approach my personal and professional relationships.”

— Juniper Belshaw, MA (Human Systems Intervention) 17

About the program

The Human Systems Intervention MA program prepares students to lead collaborative efforts to design and implement interventions into human systems — teams, organizations and communities of all sizes — to help them solve problems, act on opportunities, and realize aspirations.

People from all over the world apply to our program to learn how to help resolve issues that are giving rise to dysfunction and suffering in organizations, regions and countries.

Our graduates see organizations and communities in a more holistic manner, and design and implement interventions to create more participatory and democratic practices within workplaces and communities. The ideas and practices of HSI help make the world more inclusive, fair and productive.
