Cover letters
A cover letter is a complementary tool to your resumé and gives employers a more complete picture of who you are as a candidate.
While your resumé only lists your experience, skills and qualifications, a cover letter explains your motivation, connects your background to the specific role, and shows your understanding of the organization. Together, these tools will make a stronger application.
Questions to guide your cover letter
Your resume covers the “what”; your cover letter addresses the “why."
- Why am I a good candidate for the role?
- Why am I motivated to apply for this role?
- Why am I interested in this company?
