I chose JMSB because I liked it a lot during my undergraduate studies. I had great professors who were also teaching in the MSc programs. I really think that the education is good here. Moreover, as the program is focused on research, students are encouraged to develop new ideas and to refine them in their thesis. JMSB also gave me the opportunity to develop my network and meet recruiters. During the program I worked as a research assistant at JMSB.

Country of origin France
Program MSc Finance, full-time
Research interests I am interested in behavioural finance as I believe that emotions play a big role in decision-making. My thesis is focused on pay dispersion in family firms and the impact on firm performance. Family members exhibit specific biases that are not present in other types of firms. These biases can actually have an impact on firm performance.
Academic background BComm, major in Finance from Concordia University and Skema Business School, France
Work experience Intern at Société Générale (Corporate banking) and Accountant, Société Donat de Gestion (SDG), France

I chose JMSB because it has a great reputation and it is one of Canada’s top business schools. I gained a lot since starting the MSc program. The professors are world-renowned and very approachable. I participated in an MSc case competition, which helped me learn how to quickly identify business problems and find ways to solve them. Attending events held at JMSB gave me great opportunities to network with recruiters and experts in the finance industry.

I am interested in analysis of volatility forecast models and how the different volatility forecast models perform in different market. In my master’s thesis, I compared the performance of volatility forecast models between large-cap stocks and small-cap stocks. Furthermore, in each specific stock market, I analyzed whether the business cycle or the government policies would affect their performances.
