S Annex

Location: 2145 Mackay St.

Building overview

The S Annex is a historic three-storey Victorian residence, just steps from the Hall Building. Built around 1884, it features a grey limestone exterior with intricate stone carvings and a two-storey bay window with an octagonal layout that continues into the mansard roof.

Once known as “Odstone Hall,” the building served as a private home for nearly a century before becoming university property in 1970.

Today, the S Annex houses part of the Department of Philosophy and is connected internally to the M Annex next door.
