Congratulations to Humanities student and member of Québec Accessible Laurence Parent, the 2016 Francophone recipient of the Tanis Dow Award given by the Canadian Disability Studies Association (CDSA) to “an individual who dares to ‘speak the unspeakable’ in advancing the study and culture of disability.”

Parent has been showcased and interviewed in a number of news sources recently for her community activism, organizng and research on Critical Disabilities. Parent is pictured in an online story on CBC.ca (reprised by MyInforms) about a recent demonstration by a group of wheelchair users protesting poor accessibility on Montreal's Metro system.
