Study Group Leaders
Economics Study Group leader
Student Learning Services, Student Success Centre
Leaders help guide students through course material and facilitate interactive practice for the specific ECON courses (ECON 201, 203, 221, or 222)

Requirements:
- *Students must have gained a high grade in the course for which they are applying to be a Study Group Leader
- The position is for the upcoming Summer or Fall semesters and requires 7 hours per week
- Time will be divided between Study Group sessions (roughly 3:45) and preparation and record keeping (roughly 3:15) each week
- Study Group Leaders prepare material for the sessions, facilitate learning for the students during the sessions, and work with the Study Group Team to ensure material is covered on time with regards to mid-term and final exams
- Sessions may be in-person or online, depending on Concordia guidelines
- Experience managing or facilitating groups is beneficial (Study Groups usually have between 5 and 20 students present)

Math/Accounting Peer Tutor
Student Learning Services, Student Success Centre
Math and Accounting Peer tutors offer support to other Concordia students for several Math and Accounting courses (see how to apply for full list)

- Position start date: Will depend on the date of the application
- Open to all currently registered students at Concordia
Requirements:
- For your application to be considered, you would need to be able to tutor at least one of the following courses: MATH 204, MATH 205, MATH 208, COMM 215, COMM 217 or COMM 308
- Excellent knowledge of the course
- Ability to explain the course content to a fellow student
- Good communication skills (in English)
- Available to tutor in Fall and Winter. Availability in summer is optional.

Selected candidates will take a knowledge test that evaluates their knowledge of the subjects, their tutoring style and their abilities in teaching difficult concepts

Writing Assistant
Student Learning Services, Student Success Centre
Writing Assistants are trained to help other Concordia students at all levels improve their academic writing skills.

Requirements:
- Open to undergraduate and graduate students. Note that undergraduate students must have been studying at Concordia for at least one year
- Excellent writers and speakers in English and/or French (ideally in both languages)
- Genuinely interested in helping students learn
- Responsible
- Open to constructive criticism and guidance
- Able to commit to 10 hours per week in the Fall and Winter terms (Summer 1 and 2 are also available but not mandatory)

Strategic Learning Study Group Leader

Strategic Learning study group leaders design and facilitate interactive group study sessions to help students better understand course material.

Requirements:
- *Students must have gained a high grade in the course for which they are applying to be a Study Group Leader
- Gained a high grade (A range) in the course for which they are the group leader (CHEM 221 CHEM 222,CHEM 271, or BIO 364)
- Ideally have already attended study group sessions for the course for which they would like to be the leader
- Have excellent communication skills in English
- Have a genuine interest in helping student learn
- Can expect to work 6-10 hours a week during the semester
- Are comfortable presenting in front of a group (in person and/or online)

Services for New Students, Student Success Centre
Welcome mentors are peer to peer resources to new first-year Concordia students

We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing students with a good knowledge of campus life and student services, and who want to act as a resource to new Concordia students about to start, or who are already in their first year of studies. Students from all faculties are encouraged to apply.
To be considered, you must:
- Be a current Concordia student enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree
- Have already completed two semesters by the end of winter 2022
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
