Central Building

Location: 7141 Sherbrooke St. W.
Building overview
Opened in 1947, the Central Building was designed in harmony with Loyola Campus’s original 1913 style. The building connects key spaces at the heart of campus, linking the Administration (AD) Building with the Loyola Jesuit Hall and Conference Centre (RF) and the Psychology (PY) Building.
The Central Building originally housed classrooms, a library occupying most of the top floor, a gymnasium, and student bedrooms. Today, it includes classrooms, the Guadagni Lounge — named for beloved professor Franco Guadagni — and the student-run campus radio station, CJLO.
Historic Loyola College graduation photos line the second-floor hallway, offering a glimpse into the university’s past. The building is designated a heritage property by the City of Montreal.
