Public scholar: Stéfanie Tremblay

Stéfanie Tremblay Tremblay holds a doctorate in Physics and investigated brain health using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). She also holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in exercise science. She was interested in leveraging multiple MRI contrasts to characterize the fiber tracts that connect different brain regions, also known as white matter, in individuals at risk of neurological disorders. Her research focused primarily on developing novel multivariate approaches to analyze MRI images to obtain a more comprehensive view of the impact of various diseases and risk factors on the brain. Her doctoral research was funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).

Stéfanie is a mental health advocate and, through her volunteer work and involvement in various student groups, she worked to improve academia culture and graduate student wellbeing. She chaired the PERFORM Student Action Committee, was an editor for the Concordia Journal of Psychology and Neuroscience (CJPN) and the Concordia Journal of Accessible Psychology (CJAP), as well as an ambassador for Dragonfly Mental Health.
