Medical consultations are available to international students by telephone, the Maple—Online Doctors platform.

8-1-1 is a public health phone line where you can speak to a nurse for assessment and guidance; telehealth services are available 24/7. Simply dial 811 from any telephone.
You can also contact the telehealth line for your province of residence.
Maple—Online Doctors
Maple—Online Doctors 24/7 is a platform that provides online/virtual mental health care and other health services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for diagnosis, medical advice and treatment for yourself and your eligible family members.
If you are not feeling well, or need to have a prescription refilled, use Maple—Online Doctors to speak to a doctor right away — it may help you avoid an unnecessary trip to the clinic or emergency room.
How to use the service
- Once you have an account, login from your laptop or the Maple—Online Doctors 24/7 app.
Maple stores your medical records. You can also create, store and share medical information, so you don’t have to worry about losing track of any of it.
Maple services are covered only for students with Blue Cross Health Insurance.
Medical services offered
Maple's online doctors are Canadian-licensed physicians who regularly treat common medical conditions including:
- cold and flu
- eye and ear infections
- allergic reactions
- minor injuries
- urinary tract infections
- sexual health issues
- mental health issues
- and many more…
They can also refill prescriptions.
Create an account to access Maple—Online Doctors
- Visit getmaple.ca/medavie to sign up. Have your Medavie Blue Cross card on hand.
- Enter your information:
- Your name
- Policy number: 0097008000
- Your identification numbers as shown on your card: 0XXXXXXXX01 (where X is your 8-digit student ID number)
Note: if you already have a Maple account you can link it to your group coverage. Just look for instructions during the registration process.
