How will you pay for tuition?
Concordia gives out over 1,700 awards totalling more than $15 million. These include generous scholarships from our donors, financial support for conference and travel.
For prospective students
Provincial & federal awards
The Quebec and Canadian governments offer a number of competitive graduate scholarships. We encourage you to apply for these awards at the same time you are preparing your application.
Entrance awards
Students are automatically considered for all entrance graduate awards when they apply to Concordia, provided they meet eligibility criteria. No separate application is required.
Special entrance award
Newly admitted students already benefiting from provincial, federal and prestigious foundation scholarships funding are offered a Special Entrance Award valued at $6,000 for master's and $10,000 for doctoral students.
For current students

Provincial & federal awards
Numerous government agencies offer graduate scholarships and postdoctoral fellowships on an annual basis. These include the prestigious Trudeau and Vanier scholarships.

Conference & exposition awards
Doctoral students can travel anywhere in the world and receive funding of up to $15,000 total while registered in their program. Master's students can benefit from conference funding too.

Standout research award
Valued at $1,000, this biannual competition awards exceptional research projects that have been released to the public in the eight months prior to the deadline date.

Quebec Merit Scholarship for Foreign Nationals
The Quebec Merit (PBEEE) scholarship program for foreign nationals is open to international Doctoral and Postdoctoral students from any research sector.

For postdocs

Banting
The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships Program is administered by Canada's three federal granting agencies (SSHRC, NSERC, and CIHR) to attract and retain top-tier postdoctoral talent, both nationally and internationally, to contribute to Canada's economic, social and research-based growth.

Horizon
Concordia funds up to 24 Horizon postdoctoral appointments per year in a range of disciplines where supervisors have demonstrated a link to our Strategic Research Plan. A call for applications is released based on projects selected in a highly competitive process.
Funding sources
Awards from a variety of sources, including Concordia-funded opportunities, private donors, and the federal and provincial Governments, are available to international and domestic graduate students.
