Concordia Wins Bronze Medal in Case Competition

The Department of Political Science is pleased to announce that its team of graduate students in the Master’s Program in Public Policy and Public Administration (MPPPA) won the bronze medal in the Annual Case Competition of the Canadian Association of Programs in Public Administration (CAPPA). The team consisted of Lucas Driediger, Kami Elmekki, George Frank (alternate), Samuel Jetté, and Amanda Loukatos.

The case examined was whether Canada should adopt a Central Bank Digital Currency (“Preparing for the Future: Modernizing Transaction Through a Central Bank Digital Currency”). Ceren Belge, Program Director and Team Coach, remarked:

“The judges noted the exceptionally strong quality of the research that went into the presentation, top notch slides and graphics, very strong Q&A, and more. I couldn’t be more proud.”

The team benefited from the significant contribution of Sarah Cox, Public Servant in Residence and Co-coach, who played a critical role in training the team and connected them to key experts, and the feedback of numerous faculty members and former CAPPA team members in practice sessions.

The presentation is available on the CAPPA website (https://cappa.ca/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/01-Concordia.pdf).
