I'm making a film with a mission.
I’m working on a documentary about prostitution as a process of colonization and a form of sexualized male violence against Indigenous women and girls. I want the film to position Indigenous women as experts, not just as victims, propose different ways of thinking, and influence policy.
My name is Cherry Smiley, and I’m a feminist activist, artist, PhD student and Trudeau scholar.
