MY NAME IS
ANA MARIA MEDINA RAMIREZ

What does car safety have to do with a baguette?

Metal foam is porous and can absorb the kind of violent energy experienced in car accidents. It’s like smashing a cracker and a baguette — the cracker breaks while the bread bounces back.

I won the 2016 Canadian Three-Minute Thesis Competition for my innovative life-saving metal foam.

My name is Ana Maria Medina Ramirez, and I’m a graduate of the master's program in Mechanical Engineering at Concordia.
