The School of Irish Studies is an interdisciplinary academic unit in the Faculty of Arts and Science that offers multiple programs on the history, culture, and experience of Ireland and the Irish Diaspora.
Major in Irish Studies
The Major in Irish Studies is a 42-credit program that gives students a critical understanding of the history, culture, heritage, and contemporary issues impacting Ireland and the Irish Diaspora.
A Bachelor of Arts degree takes a minimum of three or four years (90–120 credits) of full-time study, depending on your academic background.
Minor in Irish Studies
The Minor in Irish Studies is a 24-credit program intended for undergraduate students who wish to complement another Major with a selection of courses focused on the Irish experience in Ireland and Canada.
Certificate in Irish Studies
The Certificate in Irish Studies is a stand-alone 30-credit undergraduate program designed for students who wish to concentrate exclusively on courses in Irish Studies. Courses can be taken at whatever pace suits an individual student’s needs.
