Mr. Andrew Strachan is a banker, portfolio manager, relationship manager, and economist by profession with over 25 years of experience in international private banking and compliance at Clariden Leu Nassau Branch and Credit Suisse Bahamas. Mr. Strachan has held senior positions - Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager, Relationship Manager and Deputy to the Managing Director at Clariden Leu and Vice President Portfolio Manager at Credit Suisse.

He is presently the Inspector of the Compliance Commission of the Bahamas and designated certain duties of The Bahamas Competent Authority with responsibility for the operation of mechanisms for the exchange of information for the Foreign Accounts Tax Compliance Act, 2015 (FATCA) and Common Reporting Standard (CRS) purposes. 

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree Specialization Economics and Master Degree Economics, from Concordia University (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) and has studied and trained in the United States, England and Switzerland. Mr. Strachan has also completed Assessor & Financial Action Task Force (FATF) standards training, by the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF) and standards training by FATF.

Mr. Strachan has served on a number of public and private boards, financial organizations, and advisory committees in the Bahamas, including the Bahamas Financial Services Board and the Investment Committee of The National Insurance Board. Mr. Strachan is a past president of the CFA Society The Bahamas, Bahamas Economic Association and the current Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahamas International Securities Exchange (BISX).  In addition, served as the co-host of a local radio news program, as a guest commentator on TV & radio programs and the author of a number of articles on economic topics in The Bahamas published in local newspapers.

Mr. Strachan is married, has one daughter and is an active member of Holy Spirit Anglican Church.
