Submitting or updating

your immigration documents 

All new international students must provide the university the following documents in order to remain enrolled

International students - student visa status

Required documents
  • A valid CAQ (Certificat Acceptation du Quebec)
  • A valid Study Permit

Please make sure to upload the correct document(s) as shown in the images below.

CAQ

Upload the CAQ certificate or the CAQ approval letter as shown below. Upload it under the option of Certificat Acceptation du Quebec on your Student Center.

  • Bachelors degree - Universite Premier Cycle 
  • Masters degree - Universite Deuxieme Cycle
  • Graduate Diploma/Certficate degree - Universite Deuxieme Cycle
  • PhD degree - Universite Troisieme Cycle

Study permit

New Students: Upload your Study permit on your Student Centre. If you previouly had a Study permit and have applied to renew it then you will need to upload the submisssion confirmation of the Study permit to confirm you have "maintained status" along with the previous Study permit.   

Returning Students: Upload your updated Study permit or the submisssion confirmation of the Study permit to confirm you have "maintained status". This is only applicable when you apply to renew the Study permit from within Canada. If you are applying from outside Canada then you do not have maintained status.

Upload it under the option Study Permit on your Student Center.

Diplomatic status

Required documents:

  • Acceptance Counterfoil
  • Office of the protocol Identity card

Upload the Acceptance Counterfoil as well as the Office of the protocol Identity card as shown below. Upload it under the option of Study Permit on your Student Center. As per R188(1)(a) dependents/family members of foreign representatives accredited by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) do not require a study permit

Convention Refugee/Protected Persons/Refugee claimants

Required documents:
  • CSQ (Certificat de Selection du Quebec) or CAQ (Certificat Acceptation du Quebec)
  • a valid Study permit

Both the documents must be uploaded to your Student Center no later than the DNE date. Failure to do so will result in your courses being cancelled.

If you are a returning student and have updated your documents (CAQ, Study Permit or Diplomatic Visa) don’t forget that you must upload your updated immigration documents. If the ISO does not have your valid immigration documents on file you will be deregistered from your courses for the current term.

  • Submit your documents online by uploading them on your Student Centre (please ensure documents are clear and legible). The link to upload documents can also be found on the Student Hub's My CU Account page.

Immigration regulations require that all International Students have valid immigration documents that cover the entire period of their studies in Canada. Furthermore, Concordia University must have a copy of these documents on file. 

Students whose status as a convention refugee or protected person has been accepted by the Canadian Government need a CSQ (Certificat de Sélection du Québec) and a Study permit

  • CSQ - Upload under option Certificat de selection on your Student Center 
  • Study permit - Upload under option Study Permit on your Student Center 

Students who are Refugee claimants need a CAQ (Certificat Acceptation du Québec) and a Study permit

  • CAQ - Upload under option Certificat Acceptation du Quebec on your Student Center 
  • Study permit - Upload under option Study Permit on your Student Center
