Accessibility policy review process

Concordia University is currently reviewing the Policy on Accessibility for Students with Disabilities (PRVPA-14) which was last updated in April 2003. Here are some key points.

As part of our ongoing commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and our commitment to the United Nations sustainable development goal of reducing inequalities, a process was launched to review and update our existing accessibility policy and to expand the scope of the policy to include both students and employees. The Mandate, Overview of the policy review process and Committee meeting updates, are outlined on these web pages.

A new DRAFT Policy on Accessibility and Accommodation for Students and Employees has been developed.

This new DRAFT Policy on Accessibility and Accommodations for Students and Employees has been updated with feedback from graduate and undergraduate students, faculty and staff, and submissions to the accessibility review email. The updates reflect significant revisions including a new introduction, scope, purpose and updated definitions and roles and responsibilities. The updated draft policy also includes a detailed list of support services, resources, and contacts. The Accessibility Policy Review Group is currently working on procedures on accommodations for students and employees which will be available soon.

The DRAFT policy is presented below for further feedback and suggestions from members of the Concordia Community.

Deadline for feedback: May 18, 2021

To facilitate the work of the Accessibility Policy Advisory Group, we are inviting feedback on the draft by Tuesday, May 18th. Feedback on the DRAFT Policy can be sent to accessibility.review@concordia.ca.
