MY NAME IS
MIA CONSALVO

What can I tell from your online avatar? More than you'd think.

A woodland elf, a hulking ogre ... when it comes to computer games, people can be anyone or anything. But my research has shown that avatars can’t fully mask a gamer’s true persona. Online behavior provides vital clues to a player’s offline identity.

My name is Mia Consalvo, and I’m the Canada Research Chair in Games Studies and Design at Concordia.
