Flu vaccine 2025-2026

Concordia's flu vaccine campaign is now over. Concordia Health Services recommends everyone get their flu vaccine, every year. If you want the flu vaccine, see the information below.

Flu and COVID-19 vaccination in the community

Anyone in Quebec can get the flu vaccine for free in the community by booking through Clic Santé.
Tip: If you don't have a Quebec health insurance card, check off the box I confirm that I do not have a Québec Health Insurance Number.

The COVID-19 vaccine is also available in the community. It is available for free to vulnerable people (see the criteria). If you do not meet the criteria to get the COVID-19 vaccine for free, but you want to reduce your risk of complications from COVID, you can get the vaccine, but you will have to pay. Book your COVID shot through Clic Santé.

Important information for vulnerable individuals

Flu

Québec's Ministère de la santé et des services sociaux says it is preferable that people 75 and older receive the high-dose flu vaccine (French only; use your browser extention as needed to translate).

The high-dose flu vaccine is not available at Health Services but is available in the community. If you are 75 and older, we encourage you to get your shots in the community. You should call the Local Point of Service Centre (1-877-644-4545) or pharmacy where you are planning to go to find out if they carry the high-dose flu vaccine.

COVID-19

The COVID-19 vaccine is recommended and available for free to vulnerable people (see the criteria).

The COVID-19 vaccine is not available at Health Services but is available in the community. If you are in a vulnerable group, we encourage you to get your shots in the community by booking through Clic Santé

More information about the flu vaccine

Getting the flu vaccine will reduce your chance of getting the flu or spreading it to others. If you do catch the flu, being vaccinated can make the illness less severe. You are also less likely to develop complications from the flu. The flu vaccine contributes to herd immunity and the benefits of getting the flu vaccine far outweigh the risks of not getting it. Most side effects of the flu vaccine are minor, last only a short time, and are easily-managed at home. Severe reactions are rare.
